Donald Dewees, Professor Emeritus of Economics and of Law at the University of Toronto

Donald Dewees is a Professor Emeritus of Economics and of Law at the University of Toronto.  He holds an engineering degree from Swarthmore College, an LLB from Harvard and a PhD in Economics from Harvard.  His research is in the areas of environmental economics including emissions trading, law and economics, and electricity pricing and environmental issues.

As the speaker in Mindfirst’s inaugural seminar lunch titled Economic Framework for Renewables, Professor Dewees presented the results of his “full cost accounting” study of renewable energy programs in Ontario. In particular, he suggested improvements to Ontario’s FIT program.
