Mindfirst Inc. was founded in 1999 by Henry Vehovec to provide strategic planning services for growing businesses. Since then the company has developed a significant database of companies and contacts which it mines to help facilitate business development, events, financing, investment, partnership and other activities.
Mindfirst focuses on developing and implementing strategies that use clean technologies and sustainability concepts as a source of competitive advantage.

Henry Vehovec – President and Founder
As Mindfirst Inc.’s President and Founder Henry Vehovec provides strategic consulting, financing and interim executive services to growing businesses. Currently, Mr. Vehovec is Managing Director, CleanTech North (CTN), a consortium of leading services providers aimed at helping commercialize and grow Canadian clean technology companies internationally. Henry Vehovec is Session Lecturer at University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Centre for Global Engineering. He is teaching APS 510 Innovative Technologies and Organizations in Global Energy Systems.
Since 2001, Mr. Vehovec has been a member of Sustainable Development Technology Canada‘s (SDTC) Investment Committee. In this role he has participated in hundreds of plan reviews in areas including batteries, biofuels, cogeneration, fuel cells, geothermal, hydrogen, lighting, nuclear, recycling, smart grid, soil remediation, solar, tidal, waste management, water, wave, wind and more. To date SDTC has committed more than $510 million to 214 projects.
Mr. Vehovec’s management and entrepreneurial career has included positions in sales, marketing, engineering, operations, finance, general management and chief executive roles. He has worked with major corporations including IBM and EPSON, and has been a shareholder and director of small and mid sized public companies. He has owned and operated his own companies ADAM Peripherals and OptiMac.
Mr. Vehovec is active in numerous volunteer, community and philanthropic efforts. He is the Founder and Chair Emeritus of National Angel Capital Organization (NACO). He is the Founder and Chair of CHIN UP Fund supporting injured nerve and regenerative medical research at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. He has led several fundraising campaigns for faculties within the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art.
Mr. Vehovec holds an engineering degree from the University of Toronto (1979), an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (1984), has completed the Owner/President Management (OPM) Program at the Harvard Business School (1996) and received ICD.D certification from the Rotman School of Management’s Institute of Corporate Directors Corporate Governance College (2005).
